Met MSEDCL Superintendent Engineer Mr. Sanjay Patil along with representatives of the Vashi Co-operative Housing Society Association to submit a formal letter opposing the installation of smart meters in the Vashi division.
A smart meter has already been installed at the Divyang stall in Sector 2, Vashi, issued by NMMC, which raised concerns among citizens and housing societies. The letter stated that there is strong opposition from domestic consumers in Vashi regarding the installation of smart meters.
Society and Association representatives have clearly expressed that if smart meters continue to be installed in Vashi, they will be compelled to initiate an aggressive agitation. The concerns of citizens were firmly conveyed to the authorities during the meeting.
