I extend my sincere gratitude to MP Naresh Maske sir for taking the initiative—under the guidance of DCM Eknath Shinde sir—to organise an important meeting of senior officials from the Urban Development Department, CIDCO, and NMMC at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai. The meeting was chaired by Health Minister Prakash Abitkar. Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary of Urban Development Asim Gupta sir, NMMC Commissioner Kailash Shinde sir, CIDCO Directors Ganesh Deshmukh and Dayanidhi Raja sir, along with other senior officials.
I was honoured to receive the opportunity to present the grievances of Navi Mumbai citizens. Key issues discussed and decisions taken are as follows:

1) Facility Restoration for Condominium/Association Areas (70% of NMMC Jurisdiction)
A large portion of citizens live in condominium/association areas provided by CIDCO. However, since 2011, NMMC had stopped providing essential facilities, including sewage work.
During the meeting, it was decided that:
- NMMC will restart all pending facilities for these areas.
- Chief Secretary Asim Gupta sir immediately ordered the commencement of sewage and water supply work.
- The government will soon give approval to NMMC to undertake full sewage work.
2) Notices to LIG, MIG, BUDP Houses & Fear Among Residents
Some low-income group houses (LIG, MIG, BUDP) saw additional construction due to necessity, leading NMMC to declare them unauthorized and issue notices as per court orders.
A major relief was announced:
- This issue will be resolved through the Cluster Development Scheme, ensuring protection and regularisation.
3) Regularisation of PAP Houses
The final decision to regularise homes built by Project Affected Persons (PAP) was taken by DCM Eknath Shinde sir on 23 September 2024 with the efforts of Shiv Sena.
In this meeting, it was further decided that:
- A fresh, transparent survey will be conducted with participation from CIDCO officials and PAP representatives.
I sincerely hope that the implementation of these crucial decisions will begin at the earliest, and the long-standing concerns of Navi Mumbai citizens will finally be resolved. 🙏🏻
